About Us
Wildwoods Rescue is an all-breed, all-species rescue. The animals have six and a half acres to run and play on, with a pond for swimming. Wildwoods Rescue is a rescue that takes in neglected, abandoned and "just because they don't want me anymore" animals and is a NO-KILL facility. We do our very best to find every animal a loving, "forever" home.
~Completion of an Adoption Application, Adoption Contract and References are required. We DO adopt to out of state applicants. WILDWOODS RESCUE ONLY ADOPTS INDOOR COMPANION DOGS.
How the Rescue Started
When George was a young child he was rebellious, testing boundaries and getting in trouble. Then, as he says, God blessed him with cancer. When he was just 16 years old, George was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. This was an emotional and life changing obstacal in George's life. He underwent surgery and Chemo-Therapy. Then when George was 20 years old, he was diagnosed once again with Testicular Cancer. He underwent surgery and Chemo-Therapy once again. George is a survivor. He's always had a love for animals. As a way to give back and give others a second chance like he has received he started Wildwoods Rescue. Saving those animals without a home, those who would be euthanized because no one else would give them a second chance. Wildwoods Rescue has been finding animals their loving, forever adoptive homes for 8 years, and still finding animals adoptive homes to this day.

We are located 16 miles west of Martinsburg, WV, in Hedgesville, WV. Hedgesville, WV is located between Hagerstown, MD and Winchester, VA, 20 minutes from I-81. We are approx 1 1/2 hrs from the MD-DC area.
